A Note From the Principal: Mrs. Moore
Wow! What a great first week! The students came in ready to get started. They are learning procedures and getting into a routine. We are so excited to have them all at VIS and can't wait to share this year of learning and fun with them.
Monday, August 21st at 5:30 p.m. we will hold a parent meeting in your child's classroom to go over all the events, the procedures, and much more that will pertain to your child's school year. We would love for you to attend if possible. We will have child care available.
A Note From the Assistant Principal
We would love for your to join our PtP (parent-teacher partnership) group on Facebook. This group will allow parents to communicate with each other and organize special events or things they would like to do for teachers and volunteer at the school or school events. Please search for the “group” Van Intermediate PTP and ask to join the group. We will share the link to this group on the Van Intermediate Facebook page as well. You will be asked some questions and must answer them before being allowed to join. I am also looking for a parent from 2nd and 3rd grade to help with coordinating and assisting with parent volunteers. If you are interested please email me at natalie.brown@vanisd.org

If you are interested in signing up to come to speak on the intercom to the students about the path you took after high school and inspire students that they can dream big and accomplish great things if they work hard, then please sign up below.

This Week in 2nd Grade
2nd grade is back in action! We are learning school expectations. Students took tours around the school and learned about being a Vandal at VIS.
This Week in 3rd Grade
3rd grade was excited to be back in their classrooms and see their friends and teachers. They reviewed expectations, created their class visions, and learned about our new programs!

We are learning all about leader in me. We had an assembly to introduce the 7 Habits of a Happy Kid! We are excited to have a school full of leaders!

Vandal Bucks
Vandal Bucks have begun! This is a school-wide, positive incentive program where students may earn Vandal bucks to purchase rewards from the rewards menu. See the menu below and talk to your child at home to help us build interest! These bucks can be given by anyone in the school and there are even ways for the whole class to earn them.
