COLLEGE WEDNESDAY GUEST:
COLLEGE WEDNESDAY GUEST: Rachel George
Good morning boys and girls! I am so glad to be the college guest for this week and share my college experience with you.
I am an intervention teacher and work with students in small groups. I did not always want to be a teacher. When I was younger, I wanted to be an interior designer. That is a career where you design and decorate houses. However, as I got older, I realized that I loved working with kids and helping them learn. So I decided to go to college to become a teacher and major in education.
When I graduated from high school, I received many scholarships or free money for college. I used those scholarships to pay for my classes at Tyler Junior College. After a few semesters at TJC, I transferred to The University of Texas at Tyler. I graduated from UT Tyler with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
You may think you know what you want to be when you grow up but plans change and in my case, I believe they changed for the better.
